Who is Kevin Plant?
I am a husband, father of four daughters, a father-in-law and a grandpappa of nine. This cluster of family alone has provided a rich tapestry of celebration, experience and gatherings!
Those family celebrations have included weddings that were formal and informal - from a Wellington cathedral to a small country venue, from a major city to the beach and sunshine of Goa. And they’ve included funerals - the celebrations of a special person’s life - that have ranged from the traditional to the personal.
I live in Lower Hutt, I’m a swimmer, an avid movie-goer and I make a mean chocolate cake – a balm for most things!
My professional career, along with Toastmasters, theatre involvement and extensive work with young people, has enriched my experiences and understanding of how to create meaningful ceremonies and celebrations.
I am an enthusiastic and positive person who listens well and can help people clearly articulate their wishes. I am naturally sensitive and empathetic to others needs, which is particularly helpful in times of stress.
I am a professional with excellent communication and presentation skills and also a student of The Celebrants Training College, now known as Life Skills Training.
Andrew and I were absolutely thrilled with our ceremony, it was one of the big highlights of a special day! Kevin, thank you for writing and delivering a fabulous ceremony. Your warmth and natural exuberance came through and even when the wind made candle-lighting difficult, it was all taken in your stride and made fun.
In the lead-up to the big day you were wonderful to deal with - you were there with suggestions and help, but more than happy to take on board our suggestions as well. You were calm, patient and relaxed to deal with. We loved the fact we got to see the ceremony you prepared early so we could provide feedback, and that you captured our personalities and our relationship so well.
